Boynton Beach Selects Affiliated Development for Mixed-Use Project

Affiliated Development has been selected to acquire a city-owned property in Boynton Beach and build a mixed-use project.

The Boynton Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) voted on the evening of Nov. 30 to accept the bid from Fort Lauderdale-based Affiliated Development after weighing offers from four other competitors. This was in response to a request for proposals (RFP) the CRA issued in July for the 2.28-acre site at 115 N. Federal Highway. The other bidders were Winter Park-based E2L Real Estate Solutions, Miami-based Hyperion Development Group, Miami-based Related Urban Development Group – an affiliate of Related Group, and Philadelphia-based U.S. Construction.

Affiliated Development CEO Jeffrey Burns said he will now commence negotiations with the CRA to finalize the deal and prepare the development to move forward. “Our job as developers is to come in and develop and amazing project that has an impact but is also for the people of the community,” Burns said.

Its development would be called the Pierce, after the “Barefoot Mailman” Charlie Pierce, a local legend. The project would have 236 apartments, 16,800 square feet of restaurant, retail and office space, and a 600-space parking garage in eight stories.
