Developer Seeks Approval for Second Lake Worth Beach Apartment Complex
Affiliated Development is seeking approval to build its second apartment complex in Lake Worth Beach. On June 9, the City Commission will consider the first reading approval of the Bohemian, which would have 200 units and 3,619 square feet of commercial space. The second reading would be June 30. The Fort Lauderdale-based developer has the 2-acre site at 1017 Lake Ave. and 101 S. East Coast St. under contract from Jell LLC, managed by Marta Padron. It’s along the FEC Railway.
Affiliated Development is currently building the MID, a 230-unit apartment complex on Dixie Highway, in Lake Worth Beach. CEO Jeff Burns said it’s slated to be completed in April 2021. “We’ve done a lot of research on the market and believe there is a tremendous amount of demand for this type of product,” he said. “The MID will help address that, but there is room for a number of other deals to meet the demand.”
Lake Worth Beach hasn’t had much new development in years, but it’s a good place for apartments because most residents are renters and it’s near the major employment center of West Palm Beach, Burns said.
